  • Learn an ancient form of martial art that originated from India. Inspired by the power and instincts of animals just before they strike, the training of Kalari focuses on body awareness, presence, flexibility and balance. In this workshop, you will be introduced to 5 main animal postures and learn the basic techniques used in Kalari.

  • Vanessa Toh

    Vanessa Toh is a theatre practitioner, actor and educator. She graduated with a first-class BA(Hons) in Acting from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2015. Vanessa is trained in a variety of traditional Asian theatrical training and continues to practice and teach Kalaripayattu, a South Indian martial art, that she incorporates and explores in her work as a performer. Her theatre credits include Dating Sim (Beta) (Attempts) as part of Centre42’s Late Night Texting 2019, Smarty Pants and the Swordfish (Side Lines Entertainment), You Can Reach The Sky (The Wanderings) and Landscaping A Personal Myth, a collaborative work with Elizabeth De Roza, presented at Odin Teatret in Denmark at TRANSIT 8 festival in 2016.
